"Brian and Wil at barefoot productions are top notch! With a newly renovated studio space, they provide a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere so you can focus on tracking. They won’t allow anything other than perfection, pushing you to your maximum potential and providing you with the absolute best quality recording. Working with Barefoot productions was a blast and we can not wait for our next project!"

“The best part about working with barefoot productions is that they really want to see your vision come to life. Hands on and professional but not opinionated and domineering with an eye for quality. It is the studio for scene by the scene.”
- Jack, vocals (Croatan & YEET CLEAVER)
"Barefoot Productions is a very professional and yet comfortable atmosphere. They put your needs and sound as a top priority, and offer suggestions throughout the process without overreaching or taking the wheel. Talented, geared up, and fun team. 10/10 would record again"

Barefoot Productions was started by Brian Powers and Wil Best, who had been independently working in and around the 757 music scene for a combined 40 years and then in 2023, decided to join forces. Barefoot Productions has so far recorded Croatan, Beyond The Grave, Yeet Cleaver, The Contactees, Toward The Shore, Fathoms Black, and Prayers For The Dead. With their recently hand-renovated studio, Barefoot Productions strives to provide the most low-stress, professional-sounding recordings available and truly bring the unique style of the band or artist to life.
Brian has been in the Hampton Roads area since age 10. He has played in the local music scene since 2007, playing for bands like Eyes Wide With Terror and Yet To Fall, and is currently the bassist for the metal heavyweights in Croatan. He began studying music production with John Terrel at Soul Haven Studios and Recording Connection in 2015. He moved to the building that became Barefoot Productions in 2019 and in 2020, took the Hardcore Studios course with Jordan Valeriote (Silverstein, Counterparts, Emery, Intervals, etc.). Brian's favorite bands include Between The Buried And Me, 311, Born of Osiris, After The Burial, Veil of Maya, and many more.
Wil was born and raised in the Hampton Roads area. He began taking piano lessons at 5 years old and his love of music has only grown over the past 30 years. Wil began playing in local bands in 2006, playing in Pope Literature, Eyes Of Glory, The Emerson Myth, The Alchemyst, and Toward The Shore. By 2012, he had begun learning about the art of recording music and has continued to learn ever since. His favorite bands include Counterparts, Four Year Strong, Coheed & Cambria, Defeater, He Is Legend, and many more.
